The Nation of Switzerland is troubled by the events that have occurred in the Congo with the elections that have failed. Due to the people outraging about the elections being rigged and not fair this is causing the people to resort to fight back at the government and the country of Switzerland believes that more peace talks are needed. Without this peace with the people and the government the countries will go back to fighting and more bloodshed will occur. These elections have made great strides with Congo, and this is moving Congo forward but these problems need to be solved.
In 1998 yet another war had started in the region but it was formally ended in 2003 but there is still fighting in the Ituri Province. There needs too be more peace talks with the nations that are help peace keeping in the Congo and help remove those countries from the Congo and slowly let the Congo government take control of the situation but though a process of slowly removing troops from the area. Even though the ceasefire happened in 1999 there is still fighting in the eastern part of the country.
Switzerland believes that the best chance for stability for the nation is to have more peace talks with the UN. And other countries including Congo to help bring all the fighting to and end in the Congo that has been going on for quite some time. And getting rid of the threat to the civilian population in the country would be something very good out of the peace talks with the nations. With the cooperation’s of other nations in peace talks we can help the Congo on the road to democracy and make it a better nation for all.
