Cote d’Ivoire has faced countless obstacles including: political crisis, internal conflict, devastating flooding and the extreme amount of poverty. Since the country has been crippled by the governments lack of ability to deliver basic social services. This country has been particularly vulnerable to the violence that has overtaken the country due to the political stalemate. Cote d’Ivoire knows inside and out the difficulties dealing with natural disasters. Thousands of people have been living off what they can find in order to survive. Families have been put onto streets and most, that can, tried to move into other surrounding countries. The governments lack of leadership as led to the country to fall drastically. Because of recent disasters like in Haiti and Japan getting significant attention and money, other countries that are in need are being left behind.
Although in past years, Cote d’Ivoire has received help from other countries including ally France, and friendly aid, the United States. It’s governmental turmoil has prevented such efforts in order to fully recover. The aid of countries is priceless to the people of Cote d’Ivoire. The people of Cote d’Ivoire fully back the idea of helping other countries that need assistance. They have firsthand knowledge of the importance of aid. Cote d’Ivoire will most likely be in need of help in the future as their country continues to divide politically. They believe that structure, money and organized support will be the key to preventing and/or helping recover from natural disasters. Cote d’Ivoire is also the country that would definitely help another country if they had the means. Since Cote d’Ivoire became a member of United Nations in 1960, Cote d’Ivoire would like the UN to work alongside them in order to have a resolution . Which would involve organizing charity groups that would help with recovery for countries. This would make support to be efficient, quick and more effective, then countries would be able to rebuild better in order to help other countries.
