The problems between Israel and Palestine have been affecting the entire world for way too long now. In the last sixty years, since the founding of Israel, there has been constant conflict between Israel and Palestine. The Palestinians feel that this is their home territory since they have occupied the land for over fourteen hundred years. The Israelis feel that this is their homeland since Father Abraham established the faith of Judaism in the same territory. In the last couple of decades, the violence has increased as Palestinians push for their own homeland while the Israelis fight to protect their own homeland. Clearly this is an issue that must be solved at this conference.
Our great country is very concerned with this conflict because we are always worried when innocent lives are being lost. And though we are allies with Israel, we do believe that Palestine should be recognized as a state and should be a part of the United Nations. We believe that Palestine should receive one quarter of their desired land and that the rest stays with Israel.
In our committee we will look to work with resolutions that will recognize Palestine as a state but will also be some what fair to Israel and their wishes. We will look to work with our friends from the Caribbean and will also look to work with the United States. We also would love to work with our friends from Africa in the great country of Zimbabwe.
